Payroll Configuration

Configure payroll settings, salary components, and statutory compliance.

Requires: Payroll module (Pro or Premium plan)

Salary Components

Navigate to Configuration & Setup → Payroll Management to manage components.

Earnings Components

  • Basic Salary
  • HRA (House Rent Allowance)
  • Transport Allowance
  • Special Allowance
  • Overtime pay
  • Custom earnings

Deduction Components

  • Provident Fund (PF)
  • ESI (Employee State Insurance)
  • Professional Tax
  • TDS (Tax Deducted at Source)
  • Custom deductions

Creating a Component

  1. Click Add Component
  2. Set:
    • Name
    • Type (Earning or Deduction)
    • Calculation method (Fixed or Percentage of Basic)
    • Amount or percentage
    • Whether it’s a statutory component

Statutory Settings

ESI Settings

  • Configure ESI contribution rates
  • Set salary thresholds for eligibility
  • Employee and employer contribution percentages

PF Settings

  • Provident Fund contribution percentages
  • Employee and employer shares
  • VPF (Voluntary Provident Fund) options

Professional Tax

  • Configure state-based professional tax slabs
  • Automatic calculation based on gross salary

Gratuity Settings

  • Define gratuity eligibility (years of service)
  • Calculation formula configuration
  • Payment rules

Loan Types

Configure types of loans available to employees:

  1. Navigate to Loan Types
  2. Create loan types with:
    • Name and description
    • Maximum amount
    • Maximum repayment period
    • Interest rate (if any)

Expense Categories

Set up expense claim categories:

  1. Navigate to Expense Categories
  2. Add categories like Travel, Meals, Office Supplies
  3. Set approval rules per category
